ECDL Online
The benefits of ECDL to large user organisations makes the GreenMarch e-learning solution ECDLonline a cost effective and manageable method of training a wide range of users with varying degrees of existing skills, regardless of their location and hours of work. It provides access to training for their users, 24 hours a day, at work or at home.
We are not advocating that ECDLonline should replace the traditional instructor-led training that organisations arrange for their users, rather that it is a very cost effective and complementary means of ensuring that users receive training in certain areas of personal computing, that might not otherwise be available to them.
User Management and Support
ECDLonline can easily be incorporated into the existing Help Desk or User Support services clients provide for their users, so that even though they may be training in isolation, they can still get the back up and help they are used to, either by telephoning or sending an email to their support department.
Administration tools are available for clients with multiple ECDLonline licences, enabling them to manage their own users, monitor the amount of time they are learning, the progress they are making and their performance against learning objectives. This information enables HR, Training or Line management to use it to conduct progress reviews, provide motivation and where necessary, support for the individual learners.
There is a choice of Learning Options for clients with multiple ECDLonline licences.
Online Only Learning
Companies with users already comfortable with web based applications or experienced using e-learning for other training requirements, will have no trouble getting started with ECDLonline. With management, monitoring and support, their needs can easily be met with an online only solution.
Blended Learning
For many, starting out with ECDLonline will be their first experience participating in an internet based e-learning course. If they are not already familiar with using browser based applications or the internet in general, this can prove a little daunting.
For this reason we recommend that clients opt for a Blended Learning solution that brings together the best of instructor-led classroom training, with the convenience and flexibility of ECDLonline. Basically, users are provided with a half-day instructor led course (at our training centre or at the client site) during which they will be introduced to ECDLonline, given plenty of opportunity to practice, ask questions and are helped to start their own learning plans.
Back in the workplace they learn with ECDLonline receiving ongoing help and encouragement from their training administration and support departments.
ECDLonline CD-ROM version
While it seems that almost every household now owns a PC, they do not all have internet access. For this reason we recommend that clients purchase a small stock of the CD-ROM version to book out to users that want to practice out of hours but do not have access to the internet. The CD-ROM version is not fully interactive. It does not provide for Pre-assessment or any of the candidate progress functions available on the live online version, but is identical in all other respects.
