Background:
Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford. It furthers the University's objective of excellence in research and education by publishing worldwide. Printing books since 1669, it is now one of the largest publishers in the UK, and the largest university press in the world.

The Problem:
GreenMarch was approached in 1995 when IT training provision for their 1500+ employees was provided by two full time internal trainers in the IT department. As the number and complexity of software packages and in-house applications rose, the breadth of knowledge required to do the job effectively had become too great. There was also a push to reduce headcount and associated costs.     

The Brief:
The brief has evolved over time, starting with the simple sourcing of quality IT trainers for monthly IT courses. However it later became apparent that what would be of great benefit is a company who could also manage the administration of the training too.
With the introduction of SAP into the business more recently, there was also a requirement to train users to the relevant level of ability before allowing access to the system.

The Solution:
GreenMarch were selected to provide the ongoing provision of IT training as they could offer the full breadth of Microsoft, in-house and SAP application training as well as manage course administration. OUP’s role is now just to agree the budget and schedule of courses and GreenMarch handles the rest!
