PR Database
GreenMarch were approached by an international brand hair salon company, who needed a specialist solution to enhance its ability to track and monitor PR activity and press exposure worldwide. With such broad reach and attracting rapidly expanding press coverage, our client needed to develop the ability to track and monitor PR and press activity for each of its brands and this information needed to be made accessible to key people in various departments across the organisation.
The solution we created provided answers to each aspect of the brief. We designed a bespoke database system that could handle the international nature, the frequency and the diversity of the media coverage. We designed it to allow flexible interrogation of the system, giving our client maximum functionality. The solution consisted of three elements:
1. To create a database to record, view, analyse and report on PR activity and press exposure
2. To ensure the database could be made securely available to designated personnel over the company network.
3. To provide database skills training for using and extending the functionality of the database
Following the acceptance of our detailed proposal, including all associated forms, reports and security requirements, the database was developed and tested with client involvement and feedback at key points in the process.
Once the database was finalised we designed and delivered a complete bespoke training system, the first phase of which covered the use of the database in general. The second phase expanded on the generic skills required for extending the functionality of the database. We included IT support personnel in both training phases along with the personnel who had a direct interest in the database, to give our client maximum control over the solution.
This system proved to be a big success in enabling the company to track, monitor and report on their PR activity and press exposure worldwide.
